A Comparison between HP and Dell Laptops

While comparing HP and Dell we are comparing two big names of the Laptop market. HP and Dell undoubtedly have been producing some of the best laptops. These two brands beat others in terms of their price, design, technology and many other things. Dell and HP are some of the best brands in the world when it comes to laptops. They provide a great value for what you spend to buy a computer. So it is difficult to determine the best between these two. This comparison of HP and Dell will help you know what they have to offer before purchasing a laptop from them.

·       Price
So many people prefer Dell and HP laptops over other brands because they offer comparatively cheap prices. It seems like other companies can’t compete with the price tag of Dell and HP laptops. Dell avoid selling through retailers and pass those savings to their customers that’s why they can sell laptops on relatively low price. HP uses both methods to sell their laptops. Therefore their prices may be slightly higher than the same configurations of Dell.

·       Features and Performance
Well it is a difficult one to decide which brand is better than other in terms of features and performance. But if we closely examine the laptops from these two then we can say that HP offers us a bit more features and better performance. The reason might be the fact that HP tries to produce entertainment-centric laptops with lots of features which attracts more people. Whereas Dell laptop offers less features than HP laptops but both are almost same in performance.

·       Options
Dell laptops certainly gives you more options to choose from for specific models, and HP has more models of computers with their own set of options to choose from. If you are a multimedia enthusiast and want to buy a laptop to store all your favourite songs and movies then Dell laptops are a better option for you. Dell often offers such specials as a free 120GB upgrade or extra RAM, and is good for those who are looking for more storage.

·       Build and Hardware
The most noticeable difference between the laptops of these two brands is in their built and designs. Dell laptops seem to have a standard look whereas HP launches its laptops with a glossy appearance. Hence many people think that HP has more attractive laptops as compared to Dell. Dell laptops tend to be larger in size and they also pay more attention to air flow. When it comes to components there is not much difference since they are built by contractors. Their motherboards are produced by Mitac, Foxconn, ECS, etc., and hard drives are produced by Seagate, Hitachi, Samsung, etc.

·       Warranty and Customer Service
One of the major consideration while buying a new laptop is warranty and customer service of that brand. Well in this particular aspect Dell is the winner. Dell is very famous for their excellent customer service and warranty options. Their website is also very user friendly. HP also has a very good website but can’t compare with what Dell has. Dell offers accident coverage and this is well worth having.

Things to Consider While Buying Your Kid a Tablet

Tablets have exploded across the world in popularity and abundant variety in a very short period of time. Luckily technology developers have realized that kids love to play and interact with tablet, so some firms have started making tablets especially for kids. With so many options available in the market, choosing an appropriate tablet for your kid can be a tough job. There are few important things which you should keep in mind while buying tablet for your kid.

Age

We might think that tablets are same for all age groups but it is not true. There are separate tablets available for kids. Tablets which are used by grownups are fine for many older kids as they do have parental controls and filters but there are a number of tablets especially designed for younger kids. LeapFrog LeapPad and Vtech InnoTab are some of the most famous kids’ tabs but they lag behind in some features and technologies. But some android tabs which are fully feature loaded are also available for kids. So before buying a tablet make sure you check the age suggested by the manufacturer.

Parental Controls

Parental controls and filters are some for the most important things you should keep in mind while buying a tablet for your innocent little kid, as you don’t want your child to access content which is not suitable for him. Some tablets come with the predetermined filters set by the tablet maker, and some let you choose the sites you want to block. These controls also let you block and lock some of the apps which you think are inappropriate for your kid. Some tablets offer you so much control that they let you specify the time for which your kid can play on his tablet.

Price

Be sure you buy a less expensive tablet for your kid which does not lag behind in features, processors and other such things. There are a number of cheap kid’s tablets available in the market but they do not offer you those features which other tabs offer. So make sure you don’t buy your kid an inferior device but try to find a tablet which is not very expensive but offer you all those great features which regular tablets offer.

Size

Size is an important factor which should be kept in mind while buying a tablet for a small kid. There will be small hands which will be holding this tablet so make sure you buy a tablet which is easy to hold and perfectly fits in the hands. Kid tablets are available in various sizes so make sure you buy a size which is perfect for your kid’s small little hands.

Battery Life

Don’t forget to consider the battery timings of the tab when you are buying it for your kid. Make sure it will last long enough to keep your child occupied. Most of the kids tablets run a decent amount of time on a single charge, in the 7- to 9-hour range but a few models came in at about 4 hours. So buy a tab which most suits your requirements and needs.
