On paper, Huawei P30 Lite is an affordable phone if we look at its specs.
Design
Huawei hasn’t changed much on the front and the P30 Lite offers the same look. It has the same teardrop notch, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and speaker grille. The only major change is the absence of the physical fingerprint sensor. Instead of In-display digit scanning, Huawei P30 Lite has the fingerprint sensor on its back.
There are some features that Huawei has removed to lower the price of the P30 Lite smartphone. Premium features, such as water resistance and Gorilla Glass protection.
Display
The P30 Lite features the same display as its big brothers, Huawei P30 and Huawei P3O Pro. It has a multi-touch 6.15-inch large screen with a resolution of 2312 x 1080. However, the P30 Lite comes with an LCD panel instead of OLED. Nevertheless, the device delivers high-quality visuals with bright colours, whether you stream Netflix or want to play games.
Camera
P30's camera is the main feature that has taken the major hit. There are no Leica-branded lenses on the P30 Lite, but the triple-camera still delivers exceptional results.
The main 48MP rear camera comes with f/1.8 lens and features phase-detect autofocus. The P30 Lite features an 8MP ultrawide secondary sensor and its 2MP depth sensor helps you fake the bokeh blur. While the phone features a powerful 24MP camera in the front.
Performance
The P30 Lite is a nice addition to affordable Huawei Phones. With an Octa-core Kirin 710 chipset that runs on the Android 9.0 Pie, it features 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. This simply means that you aren’t going to face space issues, thanks to massive storage. However, the user may face difficulty in running more demanding apps.
You may experience a slight delay while quickly flicking between apps. You have to use lower settings for 3D games, such as PUBG or Fortnite.
Battery life
Huawei P30 Lite is equipped with a 3340mAh battery, which is sufficient but only on paper. It is good for tasks, such as music streaming, calls, web browsing and social media. However, the battery doesn’t last very long when it comes to more strenuous tasks. The battery lasted around 11 hours when we tested it for video playback.
It doesn’t come with other goodies like wireless charging, but the phone has a fast charging feature. The latest USB-C charging port ensures fast charging and data transfer.
Verdict
Huawei has done a great job of distilling the specs and features of the P30 Lite. This is a decent phone with great specs and features at this price. Those who need a solid smartphone with stylish design and a flexible camera, Huawei P30 Lite is an excellent choice.
