Lenovo V Series Laptops Best for Your Business Need

Lenovo V series Laptops are powerful business laptops known for their sleek designs, High-end hardware and security features. These are specifically designed professional laptops that combine versatility with productivity at affordable prices. Lenovo manufactures the V series Laptops with three qualities in mind, powerful specs, long-lasting battery and a simple design. Reliability and performance are the key qualities that make V series so popular among the professional community.

So, far Lenovo has launched various models in the V series but here we are going to talk about Lenovo V130 that is a large screen laptop and comes in a number of variants of different specs. Furthermore, we have reviewed the design and display as well as the functionality and performance of Lenovo V130 (15).

Overview of Lenovo V130

At a glance, the V130 looks like a modern, sleek notebook with enough power. If you look at the specs, Lenovo V130 appears to be a solid budget laptop for professionals.

Design

Considering the design, the V130 (15) may not surprise you with its all-plastic body. The material is of high-quality but still, there is a little resistance to flex from its body. Another drawback is its slightly large bezels which are unusual for a laptop of such quality.

On the bright side, the webcam has a physical shutter which means additional privacy against virtual spies. Ventilation grills and speakers are on the bottom of this V series laptop. The laptops feel a bit bulky when you hold it in hands as it weighs around 3.96lbs (1.8kg) with a profile of 22.3mm.

Display

Lenovo has equipped the V130 with a large 15.6-inch FHD diagonal display and 1080p screen resolution. This is a widescreen with enough pixel density and screen brightness. Lenovo V130 comes with the Intel UHD 620 graphics, but you can also get one with a 2GB dedicated AMD graphics card. Overall, the display is visually pleasing and delivers vividly, bright colours whether you are working on designs or streaming movies.

Keyboard

Lenovo has used the same keyboard that it has added on a bunch of 15-inch IdeaPads. This is a typical spill-resistant Lenovo keyboard with decent key travel, big keycaps and clicky feedback. We found the keyboard impressively welcoming and it lets you type comfortably without any extra resistance.

The touchpad on the other hand is another story, as we found it average. Although the touchpad offers good gliding experience, the tacking often slip around the screen.

Different Variants of Lenovo V130

Lenovo offers the V130 with various specs combinations and you could get one depending on your workload. Here are the different variants of Lenovo V130 that are available in the market.

A. Core i5 variants

i. Basic variant

The basic V130 variant comes with a Core i5 CPU that offers clock speed ranging from 1.6GHz to 3.4GHz. This is a quad-core processor paired with an 8GB RAM and 1TB storage along with 128GB SSHD.

ii. Dedicated Graphics

This variant of Lenovo V130 (15) is more suitable for creative professionals and designers. It has the same specs as the basic variant except the graphics. Lenovo has loaded this one with AMD Radeon 530 graphics card. This is a 2GB dedicated GDDR5 graphics card which ensures smooth performance and makes it easy for you to draw.

iii. A higher RAM

This variant of Lenovo V130 features a massive 12GB RAM which IT professionals and programmers would find satisfying. All the other specs are almost the same including the Core i5 CPU, 1TB storage and 128GB SSHD.

B. Core i7 variant

Lenovo V130 Core i7 variant comes with a 256 SSD drive and 8GB memory. It runs on the Windows 10 Pro operating system and is a better choice for professionals.

Performance and Functionality

The performance of Lenovo depends on which variant you have, whether it features an i5 CPU or an i7. We tested both the variants for performance and functionality and found it to be good for its price. As a business laptop, the V130 lives up to expectations and can handle tough tasks.

We ran media software, office programs and multiple Chrome tabs to test it for multitasking. Lenovo V130 did not show any lags when we switched between different media apps. It offered a pleasing browsing speed and we were able to jump between tabs without any holdbacks.

The V130 features a modest 30Wh battery that can run up to 6 hours. This is an average battery and we think Lenovo could have done better. Nevertheless, it offers a decent battery time for its capacity but not as good as other budget laptops.

Bottom Line

Lenovo V130 is a good business laptop with decent hardware combinations. A wide variety of specs, high-speed performance, a large display and a decent battery are its advantages. On the other hand, the design is average and it comes with an unsatisfying touchpad. However, with an appealing price tag, Lenovo V130 delivers more than its competitors and totally fits the bill.
