Connect Your Gaming Laptop with Gaming Monitors!

If you need a portable system for work, play, or school, a laptop is an obvious choice. Previously, portability meant sacrificing hardware to a large extent that using it for powerful applications was unthinkable.

Why use multiple monitors?

Even if your laptop has a high-resolution display, your workspace is restricted. Arranging dual monitors has several distinct advantages:

Adding a second, larger monitor or a screen with a higher resolution to your laptop gives you significantly more screen real estate for the job.

·         You can work with multiple windows open side by side and multitask much more effectively.

Extended monitors will enhance the viewing experience of high-definition movies from services such as Netflix, YouTube, and others.

There are numerous other applications for multiple monitor setups that will differ from user to user. However, it is obvious that if you already have the finances and the space to set one up, users should think about it.

Preparing to Connect Laptop to Multiple Monitors

You have to consider these things before connecting your laptop to multiple monitors.

Laptop ports:

Multiple displays can only be supported if multiple display ports are available. if there is a laptop that has a USB type C port that supports Display port, HDMI, Thunderbolt 3, etc., multiple monitors can be connected.

If there are multiple output ports, multiple screens can be connected.

Check the technical specifications of the laptop to know about the input and output ports available. If for the output display the laptop has the type c interface, then keep in mind that you will need a cable or adapter. Type C to Type C or Type C to HDMI cable will be required to connect the screens.

Graphic cards:

New gaming laptops can easily handle a dual high-resolution display. On the other hand, for older laptops, you have to be careful about the resolution. A dual 1440p monitor setup is significantly more demanding than a similar 1080p setup.

Let's Enhance Your Office Space

It's time to get started now that you've confirmed that your laptop can connect to dual monitors.

Method 1:

The screen of the laptop will be treated as the first screen and the second screen will be the monitor’s screen. Connect your monitor to your laptop to use the appropriate interface. HDMI cable will be used to connect your laptop to this display because we only need to connect a single external monitor. If everything goes well, you should be able to see one screen on your monitor. Displays are duplicated by default from the windows. You must, however, set this to 'Extend.'

By pressing the Windows Key and "P," you should be able to access the Windows projection menu. Now choose “extend”. By pressing extend, the laptop screen will be extended across the monitor. You can customize the screens and workspace.

Method 2:

Two external monitors are used in this method. The uniformity of this setup so over setup that uses your laptop screen as the 2nd display is a distinct advantage. Users can get identical displays that sit side by side in this configuration, providing a far more seamless experience.

Let’s understand this through an example. For the workstation, we have MSI Optix Gaming monitors.  The first step can easily be done by using the first method. For the second monitor, an adapter will be required. Look for the Type C port which supports output display. Look for the Thunderbolt 3 icon near the port to identify it on this laptop.

Connect a Type-C to HDMI adapter to the Thunderbolt 3 Type-C port. Connect the adapter to one end of the HDMI cable and the monitor to the other.

Bottom line:

Thanks to advancements in hardware, laptops now have nearly desktop-like performance, allowing them to handle intensive tasks such as gaming and production without sacrificing portability. Connecting your gaming laptop with the gaming monitors is not a difficult thing to do. Just check the ports and the rest of the method is easy. Your gaming experience will become very exciting.
